Through January 3rd, residents of Southern California will have a chance to experience something quite amazing. Normally, one wouldn’t associate the zoo with Christmas and Holiday wonderment, but the Los Angeles Zoo in Griffith Park has done just that.

On weekdays, admission cost is $13 for adults and $11 for children between the ages of 2 and 12 (under 2 is free). And on weekends, the cost is $16 for adults and $14 for children. Suffice it to say, it’s a very reasonable price given all that you will experience once you walk in. Multicolored light globes and assorted eye-dazzlers will enrapture you with incredible awe. Of course, the lights attraction is in addition to the reindeer available for viewing (and if you have the time, make sure to check out the reptiles and amphibians, too).

Other highlights of the lights setup include beautifully-canopied walk-throughs that are as romantic as they are astonishing. There is one that is more resplendently rainbow and Christmas-oriented, whereas the other walk-through mostly plays homage to Hanukkah with mesmerizing blue and white lights. Alone, or with your significant other, a warm energy will come over you when you pass through them.

Moreover, there are bedazzling green light fixtures in one tree, and there are soul-filling purple hues throughout other trees at the zoo that will put an appreciative smile on your face. There are even gorgeous hologram projections of animals, especially during the water-light show which takes place recurrently during the night. In so many words, there is something both tangibly and ineffably magical about the L.A. Zoo Lights extravaganza.

Certainly, the LA Zoo Lights attraction is very highly recommended for all ages.
