Since we last covered the bodacious band (http://bit.ly/2aLvR2C), Transviolet has been, like a train with a one-track aim, focused on the all-important destination – entertaining people with their music.
In what will be the first of many dates – which will take the group through the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada – Transviolet will headline The Echo in their hometown of Los Angeles on Wednesday, August 10th at 8 pm. The event, presented in conjunction between The Echo and Neon Gold’s Popshop West, will open with singer/actress Bridgit Mendler before the main event, Transviolet, takes the stage and receives the adoration of what is expected to be a capacity crowd. It will be the last time the band will delight an audience in Southern California until the final date of their tour, on November 19th, when they, in a demonstration of symbolic continuity, ply their melodic craft in the same locale where it all began.
The show on August 10th will be, in many ways, like a stamp of poetic vindication, as this will mark the first time its four members (Sarah McTaggart, Judah McCarthy, Michael Panek, and Jon Garcia) will reign supreme in their native city of Los Angeles. Certainly, it’s rather apropos since it will coincide with their hot-off-the-shelves single, “LA Love” – a lavishly “gold-martini”-gilded escape into a “rainbow” prism of soothingly mystic sounds. In a testament to the band’s growing popularity, “LA Love” was played over 125,000 times on Spotify in just a week following its release, and has continually climbed up the Hype Machine Charts, securing a position in the Top 20. Transviolet’s marquee performance on August 10th will also incorporate the group’s other four popular singles from their eponymous EP: “Girls Your Age,” “Bloodstream,” “Night Vision,” and the exceedingly popular “New Bohemia,” which has earned over one million views on YouTube. Suffice it to say, at The Echo, on 1822 Sunset Boulevard, lead singer Sarah McTaggart and her gifted musicians promise to be as musically disarming as ever. Those who have never witnessed the charisma of McTaggart in person are in for a treat when they experience, first-hand, how she uses her soul-gratifying vocals and powerful diction to underscore each lyric with meaning and feeling.
Tickets for the concert, which is welcome to those 18 or over, are $12 in advance and $14 at the door. To buy tickets, go here: http://bit.ly/2a8V7kJ
